Brooke Shields mother Teri died from dementia related illness this week – she was well known for being an early “momager” like Kris Jenner. Teri managed Brooke’s career from her shocking appearance in the movie “Pretty Baby” at the age of 11, to her Calvin Klein jeans ads and beyond. In 1995 Brooke, with great difficulty, finally ended her business relationship with her mother. What few people realize is that Brooke was an amazing daughter and fiercely protective of her mother. Teri was an alcoholic and embarrassed Brooke on numerous occasions when she showed up at photoshoots and publicity events totally bombed. Young Brooke always made excuses and took care of her mother. Despite her mother’s humiliating behavior, Brooke was always patient and kind to Teri and looked after her. It was a difficult situation and we have always admired Brooke for this.
