Brooke Shields sexually assaulted as a minor

During an interview with People, actress Brooke Shields revealed details about her relationship with Dean Cain, whom she dated while they were both attending Princeton University. The 57-year-old actress discussed her upcoming Hulu documentary, Pretty Baby, which explores the sexualization of children in Hollywood films such as Pretty Baby and The Blue Lagoon.

Shields revealed that the attention surrounding her body and sexuality affected her early relationships, including her romance with Cain. Despite the fact that they had a great relationship and even got back together after breaking up, Shields felt paralyzed with shame and worried about letting her fans down. She admits to having apologized to Cain for not enjoying the moment during their relationship. Shields also spoke about being sexually assaulted by a Hollywood executive 30 years ago.

Cain was a football player at Princeton when he and Shields were together, long before he became an actor. Shields described Cain as loyal and loving but acknowledged that she didn’t make it easy for him.
