Joaquin Phoenix’s nerdish character in Spike Jonze’s movie “Her” has a habit of wearing very high-waisted pants – the type men wore in the 30’s and 40’s. In fact, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it took some convincing by the costumer to get Joaquin INTO the pants. Men’s pants have been low slung (sometimes to the extreme) for years now, and a high waist feels very strange. Eventually Joaquin agreed the look was perfect for his geekish character. Now the costumer Casey Storm has designed some highwaist pants for the retailerOpening Ceremony, and fashion forward men are buying them!
