We’re not sure how we feel about “The Theory of Everything” star Eddie Redmayne playing a transgender woman in his next move The Danish Girl. It would be far more engrossing to have an actual transgender woman play the part. Eddie’s character is based on the first woman to have sex reassignment surgery back in 1931 so the fashions and visuals will be pleasant to look at. It’s hard to beat Felicity Huffman’stransgender character in Transamerica but Eddie is already learning how to move and gesture like a woman. Someday there might be a movie about an Olympic sports hero who had sex change surgery.
