Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the highly awaited release of his next film Raees. Last week, Raees trailer was finally unveiled and will now release a day prior to the scheduled release date which is January 25, 2017.
Ahead of the release, Shah Rukh Khan met political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence on Sunday to discuss the film and promotions. Readers made recall that a huge controversy had erupted during the release of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as it starred Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. It all happened after Pakistan was involved in the Uri attack a few months ago and Pakistani artists were banned until problems were resolved and things got a little better between the two countries.
As Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is making her Bollywood debut with Raees, Shah Rukh Khan met Raj Thackeray to avoid any kind of controversy and protests against his film. It has been also learned that Mahira won’t be promoting the film either.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is scheduled to release on January 25 clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.
