Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

If rumours and reports are to be believed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to team up with her favourite director Sanjay Leela Bhansali all over again.

If only it were true! According to sources very close to SLB’s team the information is a complete fabrication. “Sanjay and Aishwarya are associated far beyond their cinematic collaborations. They meet socially. Aishwarya is one of the few film people whom Sanjay considers a friend. They met last at the Bachchans’ Diwali bash. But that’s it. There was never any talk of doing a role in Padmavati,” says a source close to SLB.

According to the source there is no room or scope for any special song by any other heroine in Padmavati, as reported. “The dramatic conflict in the plot hinges on the three characters Rani Padmavati, her husband played by Shahid Kapoor and the invader played by Ranveer Singh, who falls for Padmavati. Aditi Rao plays Ranveer’s wife. Besides that there is no other female character,” continues the source.

In fact at one point of time Aishwarya was the prime contender to play Padmavati. But then when Ranveer Singh came in as Allauddin Khilji the entire casting had to change.

Aishwarya was also supposed to do an item song in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela. But she didn’t like the lyrics. Priyanka Chopra did the needful. So the big question. When would Sanjay Bhansali and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan team up again?

Apparently, SLB has a subject, a love story set in Kashmir, for which he wants only his Devdas, Hum…Dil De Chuke Sanam, Guzaarish heroine.
