The highly awaited film of this year titled Dangal starring Aamir Khan is all set to release this week and fans have been sitting on edge to watch it. After the trailer release, Aamir Khan’s physical transformation had become the talk of the nation. Some had even accused of him using substance for the drastic transformation.
When spoken to Aamir Khan’s trainers, they had rubbishes the accusations stating it was all Aamir Khan’s hard work with proper diet and work out regime. As Aamir is on the promotional spree for Dangal, he was asked about the substance use accusations during a press conference in Hyderabad. To this, Aamir Khan clarified, “No, I have not used any substances. I think that the good rate to lose weight is roughly one pound a week. If you want to lose weight little faster, then you have more of a calorie deficit. So, if you have calorie deficit of 500 calories a day, you lose one pound a week. If you have the calorie deficit of 1,000 calories a day, you lose two pounds a week. That is considered to be on the higher side. When I started the weight loss process, I was doing double of that. I was losing two kilos which is four pounds a week for the first three weeks. Then I brought it down to two pounds a week. So, I had 20 weeks to do that. If you do the math, you will understand that is how I got there. So, I have not used substances.
Aamir Khan further clarified, “What people think is that after the fat portion, I started to lose weight and work out. But, the truth is after the fat portion, I started to lose weight but my workout was going on from two years before that. So, even when I was fat, I was still doing heavy weight training. You could see that muscle because they were covered in thick layer of fat. You see the muscle when the fat melts and you see the shape of the muscle. But, you could not see the muscle because there was so much fat. But, my muscle training or weight lifting was not going for five months but for two years. Immediately after PK, I was continuing in the weight training mode for two years. And in those last five months, I was following up with weight training along with a proper diet. So, that cut the fat. It was tougher to put on weight and toughest to lose.”
Directed by Nitish Tiwari, Dangal features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar among others and is slated to release on December 23.
