Just a couple of days ago, the news of Twinkle Khanna turning producer left many surprised considering that she has been maintaining her distance from films for more than a decade. But the forthcoming year will see her in a new role that of a producer and her debut production will star none other than her superstar hubby Akshay Kumar. The actor, in his tongue-in-cheek manner, reportedly stated that he is expecting a good salary from her.

As quirky as that sounds, Akshay Kumar is currently a proud husband and the pride reflects in the way he described his wife as an independent woman in a daily recently. The actor clearly indicated that he has never approved the idea of a trophy wife or a husband and that Tina aka Twinkle has always loved to stand up on her own. Though she wasn’t a part of films per say the actress continued her life as an entrepreneur trying to balance out her company The White Window as well as her family’s company The FarAway Tree. For the uninitiated, we had also like to add that Twinkle Khanna turned columnist and that’s where she developed the nickname ‘Mrs Funnybones’ which was also the title of her first book as an author.

Completely in tandem with her decision of turning producer, Akshay Kumar also extended his best wishes and encouragement in this new venture. Talking about whether he is comfortable taking salary from his wife, the actor jokingly mentioned that she better gives him salary which he will use to buy the congratulatory diamonds for her. On a serious note, the actor expressed his complete faith in her skills and asserted that she will give him a run for his money. He also added that he wants to be an ideal actor who will fit in her vision.

Under the banner Mrs. FunnyBones production, Twinkle Khanna will be producing R. Balki’s next starring Akshay Kumar, which is inspired by the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham aka The Sanitary Man.
