Ever since director Ritesh Batra made The Lunchbox, the praises and the accolades have only been pouring in from all sides. Needless to say there has been no looking back for this much acclaimed filmmaker. This time around, his next (English debut) film The Sense Of An Ending, besides garnering critical acclaim, has also got Ritesh Batra a place in the list of ‘Top 10 directors in the world to watch out for’. The list was compiled by the prestigious Variety magazine. Others who have found a place include the likes of Julia Ducournau (Raw) and Barry Jenkins (Moonlight).
Speaking about the honour, Ritesh Batra said that he was extremely excited when his name was announced. He added that, they (Variety officials) will be honouring all the names who have featured in the list, in a grand event at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California, where his film The Sense Of An Ending will also be premiering.
Recalling his working experience in the film The Sense Of An Ending, Ritesh Batra said that it was painful yet a magical experience.
