Just a day ago, it was reported that the real life coach of famous wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat, PR Sondhi wasn’t very happy with the film Dangal. The Aamir Khan starrer that seems to have been receiving applauds from all quarters, traces the real life journey of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters. Reportedly, the film had portrayed the role of PR Sondhi with grey shades that hasn’t gone down well with him. While he had reportedly expressed his displeasure over the same a day ago, Aamir Khan has now decided to respond to the same.

Apparently, Girish Kulkarni played the role of a coach in Dangal, whose name was reframed to PR Kadam with only glimpses of it inspired from PR Sondhi. Though the real life coach agreed to the fact that biopics often infuse certain fictional elements to spice up stories, he was displeased about the same happening over his expense. According to him, the negative portrayal of his character was distortion of facts that may have harmed his reputation as a trainer. He also wanted to seek an explanation from Aamir Khan, whom he had met during the shoot of the film.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan, who got a whiff of the same from the media, maintained that every biopic has fictional elements but they have tried to retain the essence of the story as much as possible.

Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, marks the debut of Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and also features popular TV actress Sakshi Tanwar in a prominent role. The film released worldwide on December 23 and since then has set the box office registers ringing with its collections.
