Shahid Kapoor’s gritty look as the military man in Rangoon

Filmmaker Vishak Bhardwaj has time again exhibited his propensity of acing films developed on Shakespearean dramas, however, with his next Rangoon, the director seems to be getting into something new. When the trailer came out, Shahid Kapoor’s look in Rangoon, wherein the actor will be seen playing a man in uniform, got a lot of attention.

Posting an image of his look from the film on Instagram, Shahid Kapoor, who has been training vigorously to get a lean physique simply added, “24th Feb”. The said image features Shahid in a gritty avatar with a beard amidst an ongoing battle sequence.

Later sharing another image on Instagram, this time of a clean shaved look while sporting military uniform, the actor posted, “Jai Hind. #rangoon #nawabmalik”. A total antithesis from his bearded look, Shahid’s second avatar in the film exudes a more refined persona resembling that of a higher ranking military person. On the work front, besides Rangoon, Shahid will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next period drama Padmavati.

As for Rangoon, it is said to be a ‘Casablanca style’ love triangle between Kangna Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor and will focus on the era of Second World War. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film shows the way Indians killed their own kith and kin because they were many who were fighting from the side of British Army against freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose and his Indian National Army.
