shahid kapoor poses with a commando bomi while shooting for rangoon

By now we all know that Shahid Kapoor is busy shooting for his next venture Rangoon that is being directed by maverick filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. But not many may know that the actor, who was shooting for portions of Rangoon in Pasighat, developed a special bond with a commando stationed in Arunachal Pradesh.

In fact, it so happened that commando Bomi was assigned as security with Shahid while the cast and crew shot at Pasighat. The two bonded so well that Bomi even requested traveling with him to their schedule in Rohtung. By then, Shahid, who had forged a bond with the young army man, spoke to higher authorities and convinced them to let Bomi travel with them to the next shoot location.

Says a source, “Shahid and Bomi spent several days together while shooting Rangoon. Shahid was very interested in getting to know his life and the challenges soldiers face. He has a lot of admiration for our security force and was happy to see Bomi enjoy the shoot so much. On request he even ensured Bomi travelled with them to the next schedule and gifted him a leather jacket and a pair of boots much to his delight”.

As for the film, Rangoon that is set around the era of Second World War is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangna Ranaut. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala in association with Viacom 18, Rangoon is slated to release on February 24.
