Reports in sections of the press that Saif Ali Khan’s better-half Kareena Kapoor Khan makes a brief appearance in his latest starrer Chef had the film’s director, the highly regarded Raja Kirishna Menon keeling over with amusement. “Where do they get such false information from? Kareena Kapoor Khan doesn’t have any role to play in Chef,” says Menon.
The rumour probably started when there was no report of Saif’s leading lady in Chef. It was being speculated that the film’s makers wanted to keep Kareena’s presence a secret. However the directors informs that Saif Ali Khan’s leading in Chef is the talented Telugu, Tamil, Malayali, Bengali, Hindi actress Padmapriya who was last seen in a Bollywood film playing opposite Siddharth Suryanaryan in Chandan Arora’s Striker in 2010.
“Padmapriya plays Saif’s ex-wife,” informs Raja Krishna Menon.
