“I ditched Kangana Ranaut in Queen; now it’s all coming back to me” – Rajkummar Rao

A year back, Jimmy Sheirgill became a joke of the town after it came to light that he’s not landing up with the girl in most of his films. This bit of observation came just before his film Happy Bhag Jayegi, in which again he didn’t manage to have a happily-ever-after ending with its heroine Diana Penty. It quickly got viral and has now become an identity for the actor.

And now it seems that Rajkummar Rao is following in the footsteps of Jimmy Sheirgill. Pick up the films that he has done in recent times and one realizes that just like Jimmy, even he doesn’t manage to win over the girl towards the finale. And this observation was made by Rajkummar himself and he has linked up with his reel-life karma. After all, in his latest release, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, he’s all set to get married but on the day of the wedding, his to-be wife, played by Kriti Kharbanda, runs away. Rajkummar Rao said, “It’s the karma coming back. I ditched Kangana Ranaut’s character Rani in Queen before her wedding. And it’s all coming back to me. Now I am not getting any girl in any of my film! They all are just running away, be it in Trapped or Behen Hogi Teri or Bareilly Ki Barfi. As for Newton, there was no scope at all since he was so focused and dedicated to his job!” At this point, Kriti Kharbanda added, “Newton mein Rajkummar ne line hi nahin maari! After all, ladki milti toh hai nahin, line maarke kya karega?!”

Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is directed by Ratnaa Sinha and released on November 10.
