Speaking about a press conference in Delhi, Janhvi Kapoor admitted she is nervous but excited about her debut. “I really had a great experience I had never before. I have learned a lot of things I went to Rajasthan and observe carefully about their nature, a way of talking and everything. Yes, I am full of excitement as well as nervousness. I keep telling Ishaan that bhanda July 20 ko phootne vaala hai. We will know our fate then. Right now we can only hope that people like our work.” she said.

Ishaan Khatter said that they are excited about the audience’s verdict. “We have created a beautiful and important film, and we have worked very hard to show it the way our director envisioned it. The film has been my most memorable experience and now the only unknown factor is the audience verdict. That is keeping us on the edge but we are ready to face the truth and take it from there,” he added at the press conference in New Delhi.

“It is a universal film and we do not just want appreciation. We feel the film should be debated and talked about since it is about a very important societal issue. People should be conscious of their surrounding realities and ask questions,” said Ishaan about Dhadak’s message.

Dhadak is the Hindi adaptation of Marathi blockbuster, Sairat. The original film starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar and was helmed by Nagraj Manjule.

Dhadak is produced by Dharma Productions and is directed by Shashank Khaitan. It follows the story of Madhukar and Parthavi and their fierce and unconditional love that fights fate. But as their love grew, so did their problems as their families reject their love. Dhadak also stars Ashutosh Rana and is slated to release on July 20, 2018.
