Two Pakistani directors Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Mehreen Jabbar have honored Pakistan by winning the prestigious SAARC Film Awards 2012 in Colombo.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s documentary film ‘Saving Face’ won the first Saarc Film Award and Mehreen Jabbar’s ‘Ramchand Pakistani’ won a silver medal in the Best Feature Film category. Whereas Pakistani actors Manzar Sehbai and Rashid Farooqi also won the Best Actor awards for their influential roles in films ‘Bol’ and ‘Ramchand Pakistani’.

Pakistan High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Seema Ilahi Baloch received the award for the Best Documentary of the year and Silver Medal for Best Feature Film in SAARC Region on behalf of Pakistan from Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J Seneviratne.

Many congratulation to both Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Mehreen Jabbar for honoring Pakistan at SAARC Film Awards 2012.
