While he has been bagging some interesting films, Vicky Kaushal is all set for another intriguing film in which he will essay the role of Sam Manekshaw. Although fans were excited about the new look that the actor was sporting for the film, it seems that the look didn’t go down well with military and ex-military officials. In fact, they have pointed out major errors regarding ranks and batches in the look that was shared by the makers as well as Vicky on social media.
It seems that one of the netizens who came across the first look of Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw noticed some errors in the photo and also spoke about it on Twitter. He also asked producer Ronnie Screwvala to research on the subject before he takes the film further. Followed by this, Rtd. Lt Gen. Syed Ata Hussain too took to the platform to respond to it where he expressed that they should have consulted the military officials before finalizing the first look and details of the film. He said, “Would love it if consulted. Lt Gen Deepinder Singh, his MA, is there to give everything on him. Vicky Kaushal, for starters is wearing wrong colour badges of rank. Sam was a Gurkha, never wore brass, always black badges. I am proud to wear that too being a Garhwali Bhulla.”

After his tweet, many netizens took to Twitter asking the producers and even the actor Vicky Kaushal to learn more on Sam Manekshaw and the Indian military ranks before they decide to move ahead with the film:

Sir I recommend that all inputs to the producers should be processed as valuable inputs and the ESM and Regimental fraternity should become a stakeholder and a trust in the name of the Great General be the beneficiary which can later use the proceeds to keep his legacy alive.
