Celebrities’ marriages in Bollywood in not new at all rather the trend is as old as hills. Since the beginning of the film industry, the celebs have been the part of this ongoing trend. While working together on the sets, they start falling in love with each other and when the friendship turns into love, they get married. The marriages between the celebs run and few cannot. But they keep on happening on Bollywood terra firma.

In this post, the most coveted marriages of the Bollywood couples will be discussed.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan is the most famous and respected couple of the Hindi film abode. Both are regarded high inside the entertainment industry and among the masses of India and the world. The couple tied the knot way back in 1973 after their romance which blossomed and led the two to get married. Before stepping into the life of Jaya Bhadari, Amitabh’s love affair with gorgeous actress and his co-star in many films Rekha was on super heights. Both Amitabh and Jaya had worked in a number of movies such as Zanjeer, Silsila, Sholay, Abhiman and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, etc. They have two kids – actor Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan.

Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia

Late actor Rajesh Khanna, the first superstar of Hindi film industry, married the actress Dimple Kapadia in March, 1973. It was a shock for the film industry and the masses since Khanna was 15 years elder to Kapadia. The marriage could not survive due to the differences between the two. Rajesh tried his level best to save the broken marriage but Dimple was much interested to pursue her film career. Both had two daughters – Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna, both are Bollywood actresses but had left the film industry after their marriage.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini

Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s love was in the air and this love finally made the two to see the daylight. They tied the nuptial knot in 1980. Since Dharmendra was already married with a woman out of the filmdom, the rumors of his converting to Islam made the rounds as his first wife refused to divorce him. Dharmendra has sons actor Sunny Deol and actor Bobby Deol from first wife and from Hema, he has two daughters – one is actress Esha Deol.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh

While working in numerous films together, both Bollywood stars – Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh eventually fell in love with each other. There were many rumors about Rishi’s stepping backward from the commitment, but finally the marriage took place. It was a grand marriage since it was the wedding of the Bollywood showman legendary Raj Kapoor. Both are happily married and have two kids – actor Ranbhir Kapoor and Radhimia Kapoor.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol

This marriage of Ajay Devgn and Kajol took place between two opposites by nature. Well, as usual like all previous marriages, this one too is a love marriage. But this happened between the two opposites. Kajol is full of life and fun loving girl and Ajay is totally opposite. The two met on the sets of the movie Hulchul and the love between the two took place. They married in a simple ceremony and have two kids.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s marriage too is in talks always. After having affairs with actresses and there were also rumors about his engagements to various actresses such as Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar finally fell for the gorgeous actress Twinkle Khanna. They couple married on 17^th January, 2001. They have two kids – son and a daughter.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai

Former Miss World and Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai, who was termed the world’s gorgeous woman and still carries the same title, tied the knot with actor Abhishek Bachchan on 20^th April, 2007. The wedding was the Bollywood’s most famous and lavish marriage of the celebrity couple. It was much in news and the media gave full coverage to it though it was not invited at all. Abhishek too had few affairs before the wedding and Aishwarya’s love affairs were notorious in the industry and among the masses. She had affairs with Vivek Oberoi and then Salman Khan. The couple has a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’ Souza

After dating for more than 10 years, Riteish and Genelia eventually tied the knot in a grand ceremony in earlier this year (2012). Both had worked together in few movies.
