Germany and Belgium will play for the 5^th position their final match of the Champions Trophy 2012.

World No.1 Germany had to suffer a shocking loss in the quarterfinal round at the hands of 9^th ranked Pakistan with 0-2. However, this defeat was followed by an incredible 6-4 victory against 6^th ranked New Zealand for the 5-8 placement matches. Now, Germans have the chance to get a spot in the next edition of Champions Trophy by winning 5^th placement match against Belgium.

On the other hand, 8^th ranked Belgium had lost their knock out round match against 11^th ranked Indian team with 0-1. But they made history after earning their first-ever Champions Trophy win against 4^th ranked England, which could not have come at a better time as the victory keeps the Belgians’ hopes alive for an entry into the next year’s edition. 

The top five teams from the Champions Trophy 2012 are guaranteed a spot in the next edition of the event, which will be held in India. Top four teams that will play for the medal are already decided and got entry into the coming edition are Australia, Netherlands, Pakistan and India.
