Huma, who’s currently working under Vishal Bhardwaj’s production house opposite Emraan Hashmi, continues to be roped in. By the way Richa Chadha has also been a front-runner for the same role. Vidya Balan played the heroine in the original movie.
A source tells, “Director Abhishek Chaubey has taken his personal time to complete the script of Dedh Ishqiya.

He wanted to begin the movie only after he was certain of the script. Now that it’s prepared and also the cast is locked, it’s ready to roll out. Earlier Kangs was signed for the film but there was an issue concerning her dates that had been overlapping using the ones for Sai Kabir’s subsequent. Kangna couldn’t accommodate Vishal’s film.”

With each Huma and Richa being noticed in Gangs of Wasseypur, evidently the two had been in close competition.The source adds, “Huma was chosen because she had previously worked with Vishal in Kannan Iyer’s subsequent. The shoot begins on February 18 in Lucknow.”
