USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Saifs Go Goa Gone is on the edge fall off the edge zomcom The suspense is over. After a period of extended intrigue around how Saif Ali Khan's foray into an unexplored genre would eventually come across on screen, the promo of Go Goa Gone has been unveiled. Touted as country's first ever zomcom (well, as a matter of fact, even the 'zom' part by itself is a first), the film has managed to make heads turn (no pun intended, thankfully) with its witty promo that has it's 'zombish' elements of blood and severed skulls involved.

Thankfully, it's the humour quotient that has managed to make the film all the more interesting.

"That's the idea", says one of the leads attached to the film, "First and foremost it's a task to establish the fact that there is something called as the zombie movie genre. Traditionally in India, we hear about 'bhoot', 'pret', 'aatma' and stuff alike when we have to associate characters from the other world. Zombies have been read about in comic books, graphic thrillers or Hollywood flicks. In urban India, youth has heard about it but a cinematic experience is a new. We wanted to establish that first with the promo. What better way to do that than to bring on smiles even as the killings are on."

It was tough but the team managed to do that, even if it meant that weeks and months were spent to get it all right.

"You can't play around with this genre. If it is a romantic or an action film, you can still go ahead with a second or a third promo to better the ones before. You can't do that with a film where the genre itself is unknown for so many out there", says a source from Eros which has produced the film with Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan, "We had to be careful in order to get it right the first time around. Raj and Krishna, the directors, gave us some good footage to experiment with. We put some of the select interesting bits in the promo that is out."

One such interesting bit is centered on Saif Ali Khan taking less than a moment to change from a Russian Mafioso to a foul mouthed Dilliwala with great ease.

"That's the surprise quotient we wanted to retain till we were ready to bring on the film to the audience. For those expecting Saif to be sticking to the Russian dictionary, here is something that would connect him further with the masses", says Dinesh, Saif's long standing friend and business partner, "From the genre perspective, zomcom genre is a new for all of us. We have made sure the shock quotient keeps audience on the edge of the seat and the humour makes you feel you fall off it."
