USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…It is a given in films directed by Vikram Bhatt. Either the leading man or the heroine or both have their voices dubbed by other artistes. In Kasoor actress Divya Dutta dubbed for Lisa Ray while another artiste dubbed for Divya as she had role in the film. In Raaz Bipasha Basu voice was dubbed.

Many of the heroes in Bhatt's films have their voices dubbed by the director.

The situation is somewhat sticky tricky and icky in Mr. X the latest creation of the Bhatts.

While the leading man Emraan Hashmi speaks in his own voice, the leading lady Amyra's voice has been done way with.

Says a source, "Vikram loves to dub his artistes in voices other than their own. Vikram has dubbed for Dino Morea in Raaz, Aftab Shivdasani in Ankahee and so many others. It was impossible for Vikram to dub Emraan as he is a popular face and voice. But poor Amyra. She tried very hard to convince her director to let her own voice remain on screen. But Vikram got a dubbing artiste to do Amyra's voice."

Says Amyra, "I did own lines. But then they wanted a more mature voice. My character is supposed to be 26-27. I won't let this happen ever again."

Amyra who spoke her own lines in her debut film Issaq needn't be perturbed by the aural hurdle in her second film. So many actresses today who can't think or speak in Hindi get their voices dubbed by professional dubbing artistes. And when these firangi-tongued heroines speak in their own voices they sound so different.

We refer to Katrina Kaif and Amy Jackson. They sound like foreigners grappling with Indian tourism.
