While the scout for the actress who will play Aamir's wife is still on, two debutants were finalized to play Aamir's daughters in the film.

Earlier we had reported that Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra bagged the role of Aamir's daughters in the film. Now, Zaira Wasim from Kashmir and Suhani Bhatnagar from Delhi have been roped in to play the younger versions of Aamir's daughters. From what we hear, the makers were in search of kids for the roles since early this year. After undertaking many screen tests, the makers decided to cast new faces. As of now, the two kids have already started preparing for the film and are following different diets and workout regimes.

Dangal is based on the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, a trained wrestler who coaches his daughters. Geeta Phogat, his elder daughter was India's first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Common Wealth Games where she won the gold medal while her sister Babita won the silver.
