USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…For those who were wondering why she isn't seen promoting the film, here's the answer.

Tabu has barely 3 minutes of play time in Meghna Gulzar's Talvar, and, that too, in a cameo that has no bearing on the main plot.

Says a source close to the film, "Tabu makes a fleeting appearance as Irrfan Khan's wife. It's not even a role. It's a presence. Through her appearance, we get to know that the investigative officer (Irrfan) in the Arushi murder case has a life, that he has a wife and they are going through some marital problems."

On why Tabu agreed to do the role the source says, "She is very close to the director Meghna Gulzar, the director's father Gulzar saab, and of course, to Irrfan. In their last film together, The Life Of Pi, they didn't have any scenes together. Irrfan and Tabu have been looking forward to playing man and wife since The Namesake. This was their chance."

Irrfan Khan considers Tabu to be his finest co-star and the one that he likes sharing screen space with the most.

Ever since he got to share some extraordinarily intimate moments with Tabu in Vishal Bhardwaj's Maqbool and Mira Nair's The Namesake, Irrfan has been pining to complete his trilogy of romantic films with his favourite actress.

Alas, the films that Irrfan Khan has been offered with Tabu have no scope for any intimacy between them.

Says a source, "Irrfan Khan has done three films with Tabu after Maqbool and The Namesake. But in Ang Lee's Life Of Pi, he had no single shot with Tabu. In Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider also, Irrfan shares no screen space with Tabu. Now, in Meghna Gulzar's Talwar, where Irrfan plays a police officer investigating the death of a young girl, they play a couple confronting a marital crisis."

Says Irrfan, "I really want to do one more intense film with Tabu after Maqbool and The Namesake, to complete our trilogy of passionate films."
