The legendary actress Rekha, who was nominated to Rajya Sabha in 2012, attended the house for the first time yesterday during the ongoing Monsoon Session. The said session ends on Friday. Rekha sat through a discussion on the appointment on judges in High Courts and Supreme Court.
Rekha, who was dressed in a bright yellow saree made her way to the Upper House when the proceedings resumed after lunch yesterday. This was followed by a brief chat with Congress members T. Subbirami Reddy and Chhaya Verma. Reports state that Rekha did not make it for the historic debate on GST and had also skipped the discussion on the Kashmir crisis.
Readers may note that, besides Rekha, it's the ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who have faced criticism from their Rajya Sabha colleagues for their poor attendance.
