She has two All Time Blockbusters to her name now. In fact amongst the Top-3, two belong to her – PK and Sultan. While PK with Aamir Khan crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark quite comfortably, Sultan with Salman Khan has entered the triple century club as well. For someone who started her career with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and went on to impress one and all with her performance, Anushka Sharma has come a long way. She has stepped into production as well with NH10 and Phillauri, and would next be seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Now that you have a major All Time Blockbuster in hand with Sultan, what's the conversation did you have with Aditya Chopra?
You had such a wonderful role in the film and yet kept quiet around it right through the promotion. Why?
As far as marketing of the film is concerned, it is best to leave that to the producers. I was told what to divulge and what not to about the film. Since Sultan was always a special film for all of us, we wanted audience to discover it on their own. In any case, I have come to realize that you may say a lot about your role but none of that really accounts to anything till people watch the film. So rather than me trying to explain it through words, I am happy that people have understood it through my act as Arfa. The love that has come for her is unparalleled. Chalo, der aaye par durust aaye (smiles).
Meanwhile, you have completed your next production Phillauri. You are the central protagonist in the film, right?
The film has Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and this new girl Mehreen Pirzada whom we are launching. It is a difficult film to be put in a particular genre. It is a wholesome entertainer where everyone's role is important and equally good. When people will watch the film, they would realize that it is indeed different. I am glad within two years, we have finished our second production. It is an amazing feeling to be doing that. We bring Phillauri on March 31, next year.
