Amitabh Bachchan, who is very active on Twitter, took a pledge and hoped to witness rape free India one day. The actor wrote, "T 2347 – Independence Day 15th August pledge .. may India be Independent from rape .. bharat aazad ho rape se." He also shared a still from his upcoming film Pink that focuses on rape and victim blaming in today's times. Highlighting the major issue prevailing in our country, Mr. Bachchan hoped for a better future.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is starring in a social thriller titled Pink that reflects on the questionable morals and how women's character comes in question after she is harassed, molested and raped. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Piyush Mishra, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Vijay Verma, Raashul Tandon and Tushar Pandey and is slated to release on September 16.
