USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Shabana Azmi, well-known talents of Hindi film industry, will be starring in short films to highlight the various issues affecting women. The six short films featuring these actresses along with Dia Mirza, Shriya Saran and Rituparna Sengupta will be screened at Inox properties in India.
The six short films will focus on various women issues like dowry, sexual harassment, female feticide; teach a girl child, child marriage, and domestic violence.
INOX Leisure, which is a multiplex chain, is providing a platform to Women in Film and Television (WIFT) to spread awareness about the women empowerment in India. The six short films will be of 40 seconds each and will be screened across the country starting August 15 for a month.
Petrina D'Rozario, Founder Director, WIFT India, said that as filmmakers, they have used their medium and craft to talk about major issues in our country that plague our nation. Films have the ability to hold the audience attention and create awareness. Their aim is to leave behind a residue of thought that gender violence needs to stop.
