Vidya Bala is known for her love for traditional looms and authentic textiles. Recently, Vidya Balan was roped in as the brand ambassador for the Silk Mark in India. When it came to a public personality endorsing the tag, the board could think of no one better suited than Vidya Balan, an actress and National award winner who has always proudly made appearances in traditional Indian attire and promoted the handlooms from across the country. We have now learned that Vidya Balan has dubbed for the Silk Mark commercials in 9 different languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Assamese, Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. While Vidya already speaks a bit of Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali and is fluent in Hindi and Marathi, she had to practice her lines in Telugu, Kannada, Assamese and Gujarati. Since she has been advised rest by her doctors as a part of recovery from dengue, she has been using this time to complete other commitments that do not require much exertion. According to a source, "Vidya enjoys learning new languages and always insists on doing the language dubs for ads herself. So, she still painstakingly and sincerely dubbed for the Silk mark commercial in 9 languages." Besides this, Vidya Balan is gearing up for Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani 2and Srijit Mukherjee's Begum Jaan.
