12 Rabi-ul-Awwal is also known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi. It is the birth date of our Holy Prophet PBUH. This day is celebrated by the Muslims all over the world and they carry out different processions and celebrations. This day is celebrated either on the 12th or the 17th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. In some countries the celebrations start as early as the first date of this month.

The entire month of Rabi-ul-Awwal people carry out Milads and other celebrations. This day is celebrated differently in different countries but the purpose is the same which is to celebrate the birth date of our Holy Prophet (PBUH). In Pakistan the public buildings are lit up, the streets and mosques are well lit and it is a joy to drive around and see the lighting with your family.

The entire month sweets are distributed and Milads are conducted in schools and other institutions. Some people also wear new clothes and in some countries people also exchange gifts on this day.

There are many ways to decorate your house on this day. One of which are the traditional Diyas. You can easily get diyas and put oil and cotton in them and light them up. You can also put a green flag on top of your house in order to announce your celebration. You can also get lights and lit up your house if you have that budget. You can either get lights in the same color of different colors. Fairy lights also look extremely beautiful hanging from the trees in your house and in different plants.
