The Telugu community of Greater Toronto Area recently held Sankranthi Celebrations at Lincoln M Alexander Secondary School in Mississauga. Hundreds of Telugu families from surrounding cities as far away as Markham were entertained to traditional music, drama, dance, comedy and South Indian food delights.

TCAGT Secretary Devi Chowdary delivered the welcome address and highlighted the Sankranthi event activities, unique programs that were presented to the community this year. She also informed the Telugu Community for the outstanding services that have been provided through this thirty years old Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto (TCAGT).  She spoke about the TCAGT platform that provides the opportunity for the new immigrants to network, make new friends and to preserve the Telugu Cultural heritage in Canada. Telugu families in GTA were able to introduce Telugu Language, Culture and Festive experiences to the kids to embrace. Founders of this association envisioned to pass this for generations to come through this Great Telugu Association. Audience acknowledged and applauded the founders for their vision, hard work, and awesome service to the Telugu Community in Canada. 

Spectacular dance performances choreographed by professionals enthralled all the ages of the community members. Mega musical night was performed by most energetic singers Srikanth Sandugu, his 7years old daughter Sharanya Sandhugu and Hanishka Polimera.

Many attendees acknowledged the executive committee for the preserving, promoting Telugu language and culture for the past twenty nine years. 

Secretary Devi Chowdary provided vote of thanks and TCAGT event ended with chanting of Indian National Anthem.
