Ginni Sethi, President of Grand Victorian Convention Centre & Radisson Plaza Mississauga, and Chairperson at Black Diamond Entertainments honored with “Female Business Person of the Year Award” at CIBC Midweek South Asian Awards on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Radisson Plaza, 175 Derry Road East, Mississauga.

CIBC Midweek South Asian Awards is an exclusive event honouring the achievements of South Asian Canadians. The winners exemplify the talent of today’s South Asian Canadian community and are the inspiration for the achievers of tomorrow.  Mayor Susan Fennel (City of Brampton) and Mr. Jason T. Kenney, PC, MP (Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism) were the guest of honor at the event. Among the highlights of this year’s event was the grand performance by Bollywood actress Kashmira Shah who has appeared in many films notably, Yes Boss, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Jungle and many more.

About Ginni Sethi:

Ginni Sethi, President of Grand Victorian Convention Centre & Radisson Plaza Mississauga, and Chairperson at Black Diamond Entertainments, is a successful, leading business person who is making the community proud. She has been honored with the AWIC Women of Distinction “Helping Hand” 201 2 and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal 2012. She also donates generously for many social causes and funds the education of many young girls in India. She is the co-founder and charter member of an organization of dynamic Women Entrepreneurs called WE-ELITE. She is also an active member with many other organizations such as, Lions Club, CNIB and serves as a Patron for AWIC – A Womens Community Services Organization.

Her philanthropic endeavors include presenting a gift of half a million as a charity to the William Osler Health Centre. He has also supported various other charities such as Salvation Army ‘Toy Mountain’ campaign, CNIB, Sick Kids Foundation, BAPS, Centennial foundation, Pakistan Earthquake Relief, along with several other charities in Canada and India.
