The Italian government has honoured lawyer Diljeet Titus, founder of law firm Titus & Co, with the ‘Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity’ award for promoting ties between India and Italy.

Italian Ambassador Roberto Toscano conferred the award on Titus on behalf of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano last week, a statement said.

Titus is also the chairman of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce for India’s northern region.

The award is conferred by the Italian President on local and foreign citizens who have contributed to the Italian society in the fields of literature, economy, public service, philanthropic and humanitarian activities.

“Advocate Diljeet Titus has established significant working relations with a number of Italian companies and has thus contributed to the development of Italian companies in India,” reads the award citation.
