Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy and Iron Maiden at one concert

Goldenvoice, the company responsible for organizing the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, has announced plans for a new heavy metal festival called Power Trip. The event will take place at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Riverside County from October 6-8, and will feature headliners such as Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, and Iron Maiden. All of the acts and Goldenvoice posted the same video clip teasing the festival’s announcement on March 28. The full lineup and ticket information will be revealed on March 30.

Goldenvoice previously hosted the Desert Trip festival in 2016 at the same location, which brought together rock legends such as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Roger Waters, and the Who. This year’s Power Trip festival is inspired by that event.

Metallica is set to perform at the festival as part of their “72 Seasons” tour, which includes a two-night gig at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in August. Meanwhile, Iron Maiden concluded their “Legacy of the Beast World Tour” in North America last year. Ozzy Osbourne recently canceled his 2023 tour dates in the UK and continental Europe due to a spinal injury sustained from an accident four years ago, but has not ruled out playing one-off shows.
