David Bowie’s Let’s Dance
Gala Music, a blockchain platform, has partnered with writer and producer Larry Dvoskin to release a limited series of David Bowie-inspired NFT digital collectibles in celebration of the 40th anniversary of ‘Let’s Dance’.
The series, which goes live on April 14, will include a previously-unheard version of the song recorded 19 years after the original, produced by Dvoskin. Fans can also purchase bespoke Bowie-inspired art pieces, with all initial proceeds going to MusiCares.
The executor of the Bowie Estate was initially hesitant about the release, but changed their mind upon discovering Bowie’s enthusiasm for the recording. The NFTs will be available for purchase on the Gala platform. Additionally, a permanent UK attraction is set to be created based on The V&A’s ‘David Bowie Is…’ exhibition, celebrating Bowie’s legacy.
