The 8th studio album by the Foo Fighters is already rocking via iTunes and overnight.

By Stephen Pate – Despite assorted disses from rock critics, Foo Fighters Sonic Highways rocks and quickly gets inside your head.

Sonic Highways is #1 at iTunes and #2 in Rock music at – day 1. Nice.

The album premise is 8 songs composed and recorded spontaneously in 8 different cities. Get – 8th album, 8 songs, 8 cities.

Sonic Highways is also a HBO TV special with 4 of the songs /cities already – Chicago, Nashville, Washington DC and Austin. The show even has its own trailer.

Here is “Something for Nothing” which is classic Foo Fighters with the slow lyrical buildup to full-on rock.

When Dave Grohl, who WAS the drummer for Nirvanna FLG, shows up, I want to hear it.

Not to put too fine a point on it, if you like Foo Fighters like millions of people do, this is great music.
