Eskom CEO, Brian Dames was accompanied by five other people, when during their travel; the helicopter caught fire and got crashed near Morwaneng, 45km from Groblersdal on Tuesday.
Dames was riding the helicopter with three of his executives and two pilots and visiting a substation when the accident happened near a helipad. It is reported that all of the occupants managed to escape before the helicopter caught fire. All of them remain unharmed and suffered only minor injuries. They were provided with the treatment on the spot and turned down the further idea of going to hospital. They were soon released into their own care.
According to the reports, no harm has been done to any nearby properties by the burnt and crashed helicopter. However, a thorough investigation to detect the cause of the accident will be carried out by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) with the cooperation of Eskom, as said by the Eskom spokesperson, Hilary Joffe.
