Supreme Court President Launches Court House In Wau

Justice Chan Reec Madut who along with the WBGS Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan officiated the opening said that the Judiciary of South Sudan is willing to give support to all levels of Justice in the country.

He said that, the Supreme Court will enhance the justice system in the country when they pass out new judges who are undergoing training.

Madut mentioned in the address that he has been impressed by the level of cooperation that existed between the State and the judiciary given the new court building.

“I used to hear of cooperation between the Western Bahr el Ghazal State Government and the judiciary but this is a great sign,” Madut said.

The Law expert also proposed the construction of a hall to act as a monument to the works of current Governor Rizik Zackaria.

Madut singled out Unity State’s Governor Taban Deng Gai, Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan and Juba city Mayor Mohammed El Haj Baballa for their contribution to enhancing the Judiciary.

“From today, after the inauguration of this court, Wau main prison will have enough space for the inmates as the 3 courts in the State capital will be busy throughout,” Madut said.

He lauded Hon. Taban Gai for constructing court houses in his State and Baballah for giving the judiciary two houses in Juba for their activities.

Governor Rizik on his part said that the whole State will benefit from the court not only Wau North, where it is located.

“This was our promise and our mission during the election campaigns as Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) candidates,” Governor Hassan said.

He revealed that a similar facility is under construction in Marial Bai, North of Wau town.

Justice Madut already allocated Dudu Jackson, a Judge; to the Wau North court and promised to avail more when new judges are passed out.
