The Congress of South Africa Trade Union (Cosatu) is encouraging everyone to join hands in the protest march against labor broking and e-tolling.

Cosatu is urging all members of the society, employers and employees, to take active part in the march. It went on to say that employees need not to be afraid of getting fired as Cosatu will give protection to all individuals taking part in the march on legal grounds. The union addressed the nation and called for everyone to come out on streets and side with them on the protest to show the concerned that the entire nation is against the step taken and that the country should be brought to a standstill.

According to the information released by Cosatu so far, approximately 100,000 people are anticipated to show up for the protest in Johannesburg alone who will march “peacefully” to get their demands fulfilled. A batch of 10,000 security officials are going to take part in the protest to manage the crowd and avoid any misconduct.

The provincial general secretary of Cosatu, Dumisani Dakile, also personally appealed to the nation to come together to put their demand forward in clear cut demonstration of manpower. He said, “We urge each and every peace-loving person in Gauteng to join us”.

Supporters will start gathering for the peaceful demonstration from Johannesburg and walk towards Department of Finance, Department of Labor, Chamber of Mines, and the office of premier to put forward their demands.
