Election Commission of Pakistan has accepted the plea registered by Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) in regards to the results of seven general seats in
Balochistan on Tuesday.
PML-N challenged the EC on upholding of seven general seats in Balochistan senate, after the results were announced. Rafiq Rajwana of PML-N registered the complaint to ECP asking the commission to recount the votes of the seats in
Balochistan claiming that officer Abdul Jabbar does not have the appropriate knowledge of the procedure to count the votes and Senate polls.
Election Commission immediately took action and upheld the results of the seven seats in question by the returning officer of Balochistan and called for a recount of the votes in Islamabad.
PML-N gave a furious response to the event threatening to take the matter up till Supreme Court if it was not settled up to their satisfaction. Leaders of PML-N held a discussion session on Monday preparing the stance that the returning officer of
Balochistan Abdul Jabbar went back on his words of recount and upheld the old count of votes which is against the law. PML-N collectively filed a complaint with the EC saying that officer was biased and had sided with the ruling party in the process of voting with absolutely no knowledge of the polling system or whatsoever.
