Sanral made an announcement on Tuesday that all e- toll user who have already subscribed to the program need to go over the new terms and conditions for the use of the tolling system. The already registered users do not have to register again to the system but they have to go through the revised terms and conditions via the call center or by contacting an individual from the organization directly.

The new terms and conditions were brought in effect only a week before the e-tolling system of the highways of Gauteng was to be implemented. According to the information provided by Sanral, the terms and conditions have been altered due to the increasing concerns of the people. They have added a number of new clauses to the terms and conditions and therefore it is important for all users to accept the new terms and conditions before starting to use the e-tolling system.

The new terms and conditions of the e-tolling system include the Consumer Protection Act as per the legal requirements. According to the Consumer Protection Act, consumers do not have to give their bank details. They have the right to end the service anytime they see fit whereas if Sanral has to make some amendments to the system, they will inform consumers 40 days ahead of the changes to the incorporated into the system.
