The State Public Administration and Internal Affairs Ministry’s Director General Abdallah Hassan Famai has been given a three-month suspension without pay following what acting State Minister of Public Administration and Internal Affairs Charles Ambrosio Lokonoi described as “distasteful disobedience” by the official.
Lokonoi said the suspension came into effect on 22 May 2012 and will run up to August 22 when Hassan will be summoned by the state leadership.
“The DG is responsible for his own mistake as he arrogantly refused to take instructions even from the State Governor when he tried to settle the dispute between him and the State Minister of Housing and Public Utilities Banaiah Bejamin Kitara after the two seriously disagreed over a matter”, he said.
He added that the Governor was shocked by Hassan’s behaviour as he became uncontrollable in the Governor’s office.
Efforts by Gurtong to reach the DG for comments failed as he was unavailable.
