Konyi has said the expulsion was unconstitutional and termed allegations leveled against her as ‘’baseless’’.

“I do not agree with the letter addressed by the party chairman George James Gatluak because the charges against me are maliciously aimed at removing me from the party”, she told the press in Bor.

“My dismissal from the party is unconstitutional and a self interest decision made by the party leader at the state level. It is also an unhealthy and meaningless”, she added.

She vowed to remain the minority groups’ representative, saying she did not belong to another political party as alleged.

Konyi was last week expelled from UDF over what the party termed “her
involvement in activities against the party’s constitution and non-adherence to party instructions.

The UDF party was established in 2001 in Khartoum under the chairmanship of Peter Abdurahman Sule.
