South Sudan’s Director of Secondary Education Azariya Duku Enosa said the training is aimed at exposing the trainees to different roles and responsibilities of Head teachers.
“This training will equip the trainees with knowledge on the roles of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the formation of schools boards for the smooth running of education programs in the states”, he said.
They will also learn how to appreciate the roles of the communities in school governance and development as well as attain skills for effective school governance.
The Ministry of General Education and Instruction of the Republic of South Sudan has been training teachers, Directors and Inspectors of schools in all the ten states of South Sudan to improve on the education system in the country.
Enosa said that by the end of the training, the 35 trainees are expected to share the knowledge and skills gained from the training to other teachers, Directors and Inspectors of Education in their respective states.
