Konyi says that about 35 soldiers loyal to David Yau Yau were intercepted in Kariak along River Nanam where they were headed to fight against the disarmament exercise.

David Yau Yau had surrendered to the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) after President Salva Kiir granted all rebel leaders’ amnesty but defected for the second time this year.

“We got information that David Yau Yau sent his people led by Major General James Harzen at a place called Kariak along Nanam River”, said Konyi.

The Commissioner said he has talked to the youth and the SPLA infantry to monitor the activities of the militia group and prevent them from causing destruction.

More SPLA soldiers have been dispatched to the area to monitor prevent the rebel activities.

The former SPLA general is accused of launching his rebellion activities against the government from Khartoum.
