The call came early in the week the ministry presented the Non Governmental Organizations’ Policy Frame work.
Several members of the House complained as to why the policy frame work came into the House without a performance report of the Ministry for the House to assess and pass appropriate policies to streamline the work of the Ministry.

“I thought the minister would have brought along this statement with his performance report of the year to know his achievements and challenges,” Hon. Atem Garang, the SSNA Chief Whip said.

Atem said the House needs to have updates on the status of South Sudanese displaced within (Internally Displaced Persons-IDPs), returnees in Khartoum, East Africa, Egypt and in the Diaspora.

“The Minister should bring the performance report to this August House. Because I can remember we passed a lot of money for the repatriation of the IDPs and still we have our people who have not been repatriated to South Sudan,” Hon. Mary Nawai, an MP from Western Equatoria State weighed in.

Last week, MPs vowed to thoroughly grill the Humanitarian Affairs Minister Hon. Joseph Achuil over reports of misappropriation of 60 million South Sudan Pounds which was approved by SSNA last year for urgent repatriation of returnees from Khartoum.

Nevertheless, Achuil told the House his Ministry is ready to present his report for hearing.
