South Sudanese government Spokesperson Dr. Marial Benjamin told press after a council of ministers meeting chaired by the South Sudanese Vice President Dr. Riek Machar that, “the Council approved a draft for human rights agenda first to realize the protection to fulfill human rights; it has been approved by the council that should go ahead to the parliament.”

The government’s move came prior to days when it expelled a UN Human Rights official in the country over reports that she had documented false human rights report in the country.

In a related development, the council similarly had also given a go ahead for the National Minister of Electricity and Dams to seek for funding of $250 US Dollars for establishment of power plan, Marial said.

He added the funding is needed to establish transformers that will connect electricity in the whole country.
