The magnitude coverage distances will also extend to the neighbouring Warrap and Northern Bahr el Ghazal states.

The expansion of the state TV comes following the intervention of expert engineers from Juba to maintain the TV which was offline off some time.

“TV will soon within this week start broadcasting once the technicians who are currently doing their maintenance job accomplish their works,” said Kamanda.

“After the re-installation of our TV, our main problem will be lack of coverage materials that can enable our journalists to carry out their duties but with what we have now, we will still continue to do our little best,” he added.

Wau SSTV was offline since last year after being damage by the heavy rain thunder which affected the transmitter.

Chief engineer John Pan Bandas who is working on the system told Gurtong that after completing the installation, the people of Western Bahr el Ghazal state and neighbouring states will be able to enjoy the best quality of the TV broadcast.

“Our work will abide in jeopardize due to lack of some other useful items that we are lacking but yet we are doing our best level to ensure that the TV will soon go on air within this week,” Bandas said.
