Entire world prays for the renowned Nobel Prize winner Nelson Mandela for his frail health. Former South African President Mandela, who also goes by the name of Madiba, is reportedly on life-support system in Pretoria.

President Jacob Zuma immediately cancelled his trip to Mozambique and paid a visit to Madiba at the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital on Thursday morning. Zuma was scheduled to attend a summit in Maputo of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to discuss regional infrastructure.

“Over the past 48 hours, the condition of former president Madiba has gone down,” presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj stated.

Members of the ANC Youth League’s Pretoria branch gathered outside the medical facility and sang struggle songs for their leader. Mandela’s eldest daughter Makaziwe and his grandchildren also visited him on Thursday morning. Madiba was rushed to the hospital on 8th June. He is struggling through a serious lung infection.

“I won’t lie, it does not look good. But as I say, if we speak to him, he responds and tries to open his eyes. He is still there. He might be waning off, but he is still there,” Makaziwe told the press.

Mandela’s grandchild, Zoleka Mandela, said: “He is stable, and we would like to thank everyone for their support.”

On the other hand, US President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit South Africa over the weekend. Experts predict that the US President’s schedule in Johannesburg and Cape Town might be affected by Mandela’s deteriorating health.
