Dr. Luka told, the Spokesman of the Abyei High Referendum Commission told press this afternoon that, the results which were already announced showed that, 99% of the people of the Ngok Dinka voted for Abyei to be part of South Sudan.

Ngok Dinka community in Juba is celebrating the results of the referendum, marching in the streets of Juba with ululation.

64,775 people were initially registered to vote in the controversial plebiscite that had been condemned by the African Union and disowned by Sudan and South Sudan already.

Sudan and South Sudan had failed to agree on the conduct of the Abyei referendum though it has been spelt out in several agreements reached by the two long term foes mediated by the international community.
